May 29th, 2013

First acceptances have been taken for the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap, which will take place at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday June 8, 2013.

Epaulette has won five of his 11 race starts and has earned more than $1.69 million in prize money during his horse racing career.

The three-year-old was too good for his competitors last start, when he won the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 by two lengths on May 25.

Epaulette will be having his first start at Eagle Farm Racecourse when he lines up for the 2013 Stradbroke Handicap in what will be his fourth start this preparation.

Also included in the 2013 Stradbroke Handicap first acceptances is Buffering.

Buffering has won 12 of his 33 race starts and has earned more than $2.17 million in prize money during his career.

The Mossman gelding won the Group 2 Victory Stakes first-up this campaign, before finishing a gallant fourth in the Group 1 BTC Cup.

He then went on to place third behind Epaulette in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 at Doomben Racecourse last start.

Buffering is trained by Robert Heathcote and will have to home track advantage in the 2013 Stradbroke Handicap.

Arinosa and Your Song are also amongst the 2013 Stradbroke Handicap first acceptances.
