One of the richest days of racing in the Queensland capital will go ahead this Saturday, as the Eagle Farm Racecourse hosts the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival’s highly esteemed AAMI Stradbroke Raceday, with nine fantastic races hitting the track.
Whobegotyou has drawn perfectly with barrier nine and will most likely see his odds come in.
Headlined by the $1 million Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m), the thrilling event has seen a top field of 18 horses plus five emergencies drawn to the track to suggest another exciting battle on the course.
Due to jump as the sixth race of the day, Gold Coast-based Ghetto Blaster has drawn barrier one, while King Mufhasa has the widest gate.
Whobegotyou has drawn perfectly with barrier nine and will most likely see his odds come in.
The Mark Kavanagh-trained gelding has been running well of late, and the middle barrier will only add to the runner up in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m)’s chances.
On the inside of Whobegotyou will be the Gai Waterhouse-trained Swift Alliance who has also benefitted from the middle gate draw.
With Chris Munce aboard, who has had a successful Winter campaign thus far, the four-year-old could be one to keep an eye on.
Melito has drawn barrier four – which will give the filly the opportunity to get out from the gates fast, and could see the runner up in two of her last starts, finally grab first place.
Mic Mac and Ortensia have both been hit by the draw, starting relatively wide at 17 and 21 respectively.
Other Eagle Farm races taking place this Saturday are the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m), the Group 1 T.J. Smith (1600m), the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2400m) and the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m).
