This Saturday, the Eagle Farm Racecourse will host the next fixture of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival as the AAMI Stradbroke Raceday goes ahead with eight fantastic races scheduled.
In early market odds, the Mark Kavanagh-trained Whobegotyou is the favourite at $2.16.
The headlining race will be the illustrious $1 million Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m), which has seen 38 horses nominated for the coveted line up.
In early market odds, the Mark Kavanagh-trained Whobegotyou is the favourite at $2.16.
The gelding is coming into the event off the back of some convincing runs, including a second placed finish in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) losing out to Hot Danish who has not been nominated for the 2010 Stradbroke Handicap.
Winner of the Group 1 The Galaxy in April Ortensia, is another horse to be considered in the early market odds, as the mare overcame a classy field including fellow 2010 nomination Shellscrape.
Trained by Tony Noonan, the daughter of Testa Rossa lost out to Albert The Fat in the BTC Cup (1200m) recently when she finished fifth – and may struggle against the male opponents after her early market odds have moved out from $5.50 to $6.50.
Melito and Catapulted are even in the odds at $8.50 – with the latter the recent winner of the Group 2 QTC Cup (1300m) at the Eagle Farm Racecourse last weekend, and could be a safe bet after the convincing win.
Also taking place on Saturday at Eagle Farm will be the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m), the Group 1 T.J. Smith (1600m), the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2400m) and the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m).
So if you would like to take advantage of the more lucrative early market odds, or just want to see what is on offer – then head to SportsBet now to make the most of the 2010 Stradbroke Handicap.
